Valsts prezidents Ļubļanā tiekas ar Slovēnijas prezidentu
Wednesday, 5 June 2019, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis met with President of Slovenia Borut Pahor at his residence in Ljubljana. The meeting was aimed at discussing the opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations of the two countries, cooperation within the European Union, NATO, and international organizations, as well as regional cooperation under the Three Seas Initiative.

During the meeting, the President of Latvia noted that Latvia highly appreciated Slovenia’s participation in the NATO enhanced presence battle group in Latvia by strengthening the security of both Latvia and the whole region.

“We observe see good opportunities to expand both political dialogue and economic relations between Latvia and Slovenia, especially with regard to the production of high value-added products,” stated the President of Latvia after the meeting.

Raimonds Vējonis has also noted that Latvia and Slovenia advocate a united and solidarity Europe and hope that the process of institutional transition in the European Union will not prevent significant EU decisions, especially on the new EU multiannual budget.

At the end of the day, Raimonds Vējonis will take part in a dinner hosted by President of Slovenia Borut Pahor.

On Thursday, June 6, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis will participate in the Summit of the Three Seas Initiative in Brdo, Slovenia, to express political support for transnational and regional projects and thus contribute to a united, secure, and competitive Europe.

From 4 June to 6 June 2019, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis pays a working visit to the Republic of Slovenia.
