Santa Claus Charity Race
In a time before the holiday, a charity race of Santa Clauses will take place at 11:30 on 13 December 2015 at the Dome Square in Riga for the eighth year in a row, where everyone is given an opportunity to spend time actively and funny and to help in achieving a noble charity objective. The race organized by Riga International Rotary Club in collaboration with Ziedot.lv will raise funds for supporting mothers of 42 seriously ill children this year, as donations will be collected at the amount of 10,000 euros for ensuring the nanny service.
In support of the Santa Claus Charity Race this year, the First Lady of Latvia Mrs Iveta Vējone confirms that this international charity idea has also become a wonderful tradition for active families and attractive business teams to join their efforts for a good deed in Latvia in eight years’ time. Stepping into the shoes of the Santa Claus for a moment, everyone will manage one and a half kilometre long distance by running, walking, or sledging if the littlest participants are concerned. At the same time, donation of every participant will assist in providing the nanny services for the families, which take care of their seriously ill children at home, whose life support requires special care on a daily basis.
