On Tuesday, February 7, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis sent a letter to the Human Rights and Public Affairs Committee of the Saeima (Latvian Parliament). He requested to improve the regulation on ensuring extra-familial care of children up to their age of three contained in the draft law “On Amendments to the Children's Rights Protection Law” in the third reading.

President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis met with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Arvils Ašeradens in the Riga Castle on Thursday to be updated on the Minister’s plans to promote business operations in 2017.
During the meeting with the Director-General of the State Revenue Service (SRS), Ilze Cīrule on Wednesday, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis said that the State Revenue Service should transform into a reliable assistant to individuals and businesses to promote higher revenues to the state budget in that way.
