Latvija un Armēnija ieinteresētas sadarboties ES Austrumu partnerībā, IT un lauksaimniecībā
President of Latvia Egils Levits and President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian discussed the response of both countries to COVID-19 pandemic and future cooperation between Latvia and Armenia during a videoconference call today.

President of Armenia praised the European Union for helping the country overcome the deep COVID-19 crisis. Armen Sarkissian also underlined that ‘although Latvia is a small country, it is an important EU partner for Armenia’. He thanked Latvia for actively supporting the political dialogue between the EU and Armenia in scope of EU’s Eastern Partnership policy.

Presidents of both countries also discussed future relations and agreed to expand cooperation in fields like IT and technologies, food safety and agriculture. President Sarkissian invited Egils Levits to visit Armenia to deepen the bilateral ties between both countries.
