Valsts prezidents Egils Levits Sēlijā uzsāks diskusiju ciklu par latviešu vēsturiskajām zemēm
On Friday, 10 July, President of Latvia Egils Levits will visit Sēlija as a part of a series of visits to historical Latvian lands leading up to submission of legislative proposal to Saeima.

President of Latvia Egils Levits visit to Sēlija (Selonia) launches a series of discussions on historical Latvian lands that will form the basis of legislative proposal for the parliament. During the discussion at Ilūkste Culture Centre, President Levits intends to focus on Selonian identity and development.

Egils Levits will visit Tadenava Rainis’ Museum in Jēkabpils region and ABC trail opened in 2014 in Sunākste to mark the 300th birthday of Old Stenders. He will also visit Stenders’ Family Grave. President of Latvia will also stop by biological farm ‘Liepas’ in Aknīste region.

Before going to Sēlija, President of Latvia Egils Levits and the sixth President of Latvia Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga will visit the Garden of Destiny to plant oaks of wishes and mark the 15th Anniversary week of Koknese foundation, which started the Garden of Destiny.
