Today, President of Latvia Egils Levits met with Vice-Speaker of the Saeima Inese Lībiņa-Egnere in the Riga Castle to discuss co-operation between the President’s institution and the Saeima.
During the meeting, they also discussed and welcomed the decision made by the Cabinet of Ministers yesterday to prepare a concept on the reform of higher education institution and science governance that would enhance the global competitiveness of Latvia in this sector. Egils Levits and Inese Lībiņa-Egnere exchanged views on the improvement of the regulation of political party financing.
Both parties also considered current developments in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe regarding Ukraine and Russia.
