Mr Andris Teikmanis has been Latvian Ambassador to the United States of America since September 2016. Before the post in the United States of America, Mr Andris Teikmanis served as Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Non-resident Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Andris Teikmanis was a Secretary of State and Deputy Secretary of State to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, Ambassador of Latvia to Federal Republic of Germany, Russian Federation, and Council of Europe. From 1990 to 1994, he served as Chairman of Riga City Council for four years.

Mr Andris Teikmanis holds a degree in Law from the University of Latvia.
