During the meeting, President Rinkēvičs noted that the relations between Latvia and Armenia are friendly and constructive, and expressed Latvia’s interest in deeper political dialogue at the highest level as well as closer practical cooperation between countries. Edgars Rinkēvičs commended the results of general elections in Armenia this June and country’s aspirations to build closer relations with the European Union. Officials of both countries exchanged views on Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process and also security and economic challenges faced by both regions.
