According to the decision of the President of Latvia and Chapter of Orders of 17 October 2022, the Order of the Three Stars was awarded to 35 individuals, while 24 individuals received Order of Viesturs and 22 individuals received the Cross of Recognition.
Hours have been awarded to individuals whose work ethic and hard work, active civic stance and service to Latvia deserves a special recognition at the highest national level.
Awards have been presented to distinguished Latvians in diverse range of fields, including healthcare professionals who continued to courageously and selflessly work to ensure public health and safety during Covid-19 pandemic, outstanding creative personalities, members of National Armed Forces and National Guard, Border Force, National Security Service, State Police officers who take care of Latvia’s national security, representatives of judicial branch, academics, teachers, entrepreneurs, veterinary doctors, farmers, municipal workers, experts in the field of collective memory and cultural heritage, as well as notable public figures.
The highest award in Latvia, the Order of the Three Stars, was awarded to organisers of civic initiatives, physicians, diplomats, foreign service employees and media workers, individuals whose professional standards and courage has been indispensable in their line of duty and contributed to civic excellence and high personal standards in helping Ukraine, its troops and civilians, documenting and reporting of Ukrainian nations struggle for freedom and independence.

The highest honours – Order of the Three Stars, Order of Viesturs and Cross of Recognition – will be presented on the 104th Anniversary of Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia on 18 November at 15:30 in the Riga Castle. Ceremony will be broadcast live on Channel 1 of the Latvian Television.
