On 13 December, President of Latvia Egils Levits and Mrs Andra Levite welcomed the little patients, parents and doctors of Ukrainian Children’s Hospital 'Ohmatdyt' to the Riga Castle.
‘I am honoured to welcome you to the Riga Castle - the workplace of the President of Latvia. Three years ago, I received your President Volodymyr Zelenskyy here. Latvia continues to support brave Ukrainians fighting for their freedom. We here in Latvia have no doubt Ukraine will prevail in this war,’ said President of Latvia in his address to Ukrainian guests.
‘I hope the time you spent here in Latvia was full of joy. Unfortunately, children of Ukraine have gone through experiences no child should ever have. As we approach winter solstice, I wish you all to see the light destroy the night,’ Mrs Andra Levite said to everyone gathered.
Foundation of Riga Maternity Hospital and largest Ukrainian Children’s Hospital 'Ohmatdyt' organised the mental rehabilitation camp for its patients, parents and doctors in Latvia from 5 December to 15 December.
