State awards of Latvia were presented by President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs to Christopher Robinson and Warren Low on 18 September, at the Embassy of Latvia to the United States in Washington, DC.

Christopher Todd Robinson former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Latvia, was awarded the Order of the Three Stars, and the rank of the COMMANDER of the Order of the Three Stars, for his special contribution to Latvia and significant role in deepening and strengthening of ties between Latvia and the United States of America.

Whereas Warren Low, former Command, Control, and Communications Policies, Capabilities, and Industries Manager at NATO Allied Command Transformation, was awarded the ORDER OF VIESTURS, and the rank of the OFFICER of the Order of Viesturs, for the special contribution to Latvia by strengthening Latvia’s national defence, security, international cooperation and development of modern technologies, as well as significant role in facilitating international defence cooperation.

As reported, President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs is paying a working visit to the United States of America on 17-28 September to attend the opening of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly  in New York and the 75th Anniversary Congress of the American Latvian Association in Washington. President of Latvia, together with Latvian companies, will also have several meetings in Los Angeles and San Diego. President’s working visit to the United States will finish with a 75th Anniversary of Latvian School in Los Angeles celebration and meeting with Latvian diaspora.
