On 21 October, a reception hosted by President Edgars Rinkēvičs and attended by Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden was held at Riga Castle to mark the tenth anniversary of the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga’s (SSE Riga) “Young Leaders Academy” programme.

“Graduates of the “Young Leaders Academy” have gained something they can put to use in their everyday lives – in their work, studies or personal lives. Each of you has chosen your own path, whether in diplomacy, science, engineering or business, but you are undoubtedly the foundation and the future of our country. I would therefore like to thank the Embassy of Sweden in Latvia, the Swedish Institute and the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga for supporting the implementation of this programme. I would especially like to thank Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden for being here with us this evening,” said President Edgars Rinkēvičs.

On 21 October, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden paid a working visit to Latvia and together with President Edgars Rinkēvičs visited the National History Museum of Latvia.

During the working visit, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden also visited the Medical Education Technology Centre of Rīga Stradiņš University, where she met with students from Sweden. She also took part in a round-table discussion “Women in Business” at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.
