On 24 November, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with Kaspars Rožkalns, Chairman of the Board of the Latvian exporters’ association “The Red Jackets”, and Līva Stūrmane, the association’s Executive Director, at the Riga Castle. During the meeting, the parties discussed the findings of the association’s “Export Barometer” research project. The association also shared insights on the outlook of its members and leading exporting companies regarding the business environment and presented proposals aimed at enhancing competitiveness and export growth.
“The views of exporting companies are important and deserve close attention – exporters are the ones driving innovation through investment in research and development, strengthening related industries, and attracting investment. In my conversation with the leadership of the Latvian exporters’ association “The Red Jackets”, we emphasised the need for more effective cooperation between the public administration and the private sector. Building trust, improving collaboration, and reducing bureaucracy cannot be occasional efforts, it must become an ongoing task for public administration,” said E. Rinkēvičs after the meeting.
