Valsts prezidents un aizsardzības ministrs: koordinēta, moderna digitālā politika valstī ir arī valsts drošības jautājums
Today, President of Latvia Egils Levits met with the Defence Minister Artis Pabriks in the Riga Castle to discuss the current state of digital security in Latvia.

President and Defence Minister talked about national-level cyber security coordination in future, application of state-of-the-art technologies by national defence sector and the role of National IT Security Council in tackling contemporary digital security challenges. Egils Levits and Artis Pabriks agreed that coordinated, modern national digital policy is important for national security and it should be prioritised more. Meeting also focused on the leading role of Defence Ministry in addressing these issues.

On the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, President Levits reiterated the importance of protecting people’s lives and health in current circumstances. He urged Cabinet members to work together on ways of bringing the pandemic under control and using all available public support for that.
