This weekend, 14–15 August, President of Latvia Egils Levits and Mrs Andra Levite will go on a working visit to Latgale. They will visit Līvāni Municipality, attend the Festival of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Aglona and visit Višķi.
On Saturday, 14 August, President of Latvia and the First Lady will visit the Līvāni Glass and Craft Centre and the exhibitions “Craftsmen in Latgale in the 19th-20th century” and “Līvāni Glass Museum”, optic fibre and high technology company SIA “Light Guide Optics International, lay flowers at the Līvāni Liberation Monument and meet with the management of the Līvāni Municipal Council.
At 22:00 President of Latvia and Mrs Andra Levite will attend the People’s Walk of the Cross at the Festival of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Sacred Square of Aglona Basilicum.
On Saturday, 15 August, at 12:00 the President of Latvia and the First Lady will attend the Sacred Mass of the Festival of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, during which the President of Latvia will also give a ceremonial address. The Sacred Mass will be broadcast live on Channel 1 of Latvian Television.
At 17:15 the President of Latvia and Mrs Andra Levite will visit the Roman Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist in Višķi to lay flowers at the grave of priest Vladislavs Litaunieks and meet with the members of the parish and local residents.
