On 29 January, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with the Minister for Smart Administration and Regional Development, Raimonds Čudars, at the Riga Castle. During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues related to municipal territorial planning, including the Minister’s decision to partially suspend the binding territorial planning regulations of the municipalities of Bauska and Preiļi.
The meeting also addressed completed and planned preparatory work to ensure the organisation of the forthcoming Saeima elections in the autumn, as well as current developments related to the Artificial Intelligence Centre. In addition, the parties discussed the governance model of SIA “Austrumlatvijas koncertzāle”, also known as the Latgale Embassy “Gors”, support for Latvia’s eastern border region, and the operation of the municipal financial equalisation fund.
