On 17 April, President Edgars Rinkēvičs attended and delivered a speech at the dress rehearsal of the concert "LNSO, Kristiina Poska and Georgijs Osokins. Arvo Pärt – 90!", organised by the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) Foundation. The event took place at Hanzas Perons and was attended by approximately 350 students from music schools across Latvia, at the initiative of the LNSO Foundation.
"I know that many of you are still contemplating your future paths. No doubt, a number of you are considering a career as professional musicians. Some of you will indeed follow that path, others may choose a different profession. Regardless, music will continue to support you. In truth, music supports us all – in both difficult and joyful times – and that is its unique beauty.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the teachers – for your dedication, your patience, and your professionalism in nurturing the next generation of musicians," said President Rinkēvičs in his address to the students of Latvian music schools.
President E. Rinkēvičs attended the first part of the rehearsal, during which he listened to Arvo Pärt’s instrumental opus “Lamentate”.
