Valsts prezidents Edgars Rinkēvičs Rīgas pilī tiekas ar Latvijas Darba devēju konfederācijas pārstāvjiem

On 9 December, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with representatives of the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia (LDDK) at the Riga Castle. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the state budget for 2026 adopted by the Saeima, the challenges in implementing social dialogue between employers, employees, and the government, as well as the work on forming a unified Latvian position regarding the planning of the next Multiannual Financial Framework of the European Union. The discussion also addressed issues related to the management of natural resources and the future challenges of the labour market in connection with ensuring a high-quality, accessible, and competitive education system in Latvia.

“The essence of social dialogue lies in open and mutually engaged discussions and in joint work among the three parties – employers, employees, and the government, which implements policies across various sectors. Today, I listened to representatives of the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia on a wide range of topics, including the effectiveness of public administration, previous cooperation with the government, and ways to improve collaboration within the framework of the National Tripartite Cooperation Council, so that, for example, when working on next year’s state budget or planning tax policy, the interests of all three parties – employers, employees, and the state – are duly taken into account,” said President Rinkēvičs after the meeting.
