On 30 July, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with Auditor General Edgars Korčagins at the Jūrmala residence. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current priorities of the State Audit Office, including the progress of implementing the State Audit Office’s recommendations within the public administration.
“The task of the State Audit Office is to provide an objective, well-founded and fair assessment of the use of public resources. The conclusions drawn during audits and the recommendations issued by the State Audit Office can serve as a valuable contribution both to discussions on reducing state budget expenditure and to efforts in reducing bureaucracy,” said E. Rinkēvičs during the meeting.
