President of Latvia discusses economic developments with representatives of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

On 12 December, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met at Riga Castle with representatives of the Board and Council of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss economic and regional development policy, the framework of the 2026 state budget adopted by the Saeima, planned measures to reduce administrative burdens, as well as issues related to education quality and the promotion of exports.

“The current geopolitical situation and the economic challenges we face demand particularly focused and precise action from both public administration and businesses, so that Latvian entrepreneurs can develop and adapt to changing circumstances without unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles. With representatives of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we also discussed the need to promote exports, as external markets play a crucial role in enabling companies in Latvia to increase productivity and employee remuneration,” said President Rinkēvičs after the meeting.
