On 5 March, President Edgars Rinkēvičs expressed Latvia’s full solidarity with the state and people of Azerbaijan during a telephone conversation with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in connection with an attack on Azerbaijani territory carried out by unmanned aerial vehicles from Iran.
The President of Latvia strongly condemned Iran’s aggressive actions, emphasising that such behaviour undermines regional security and stability. During the conversation, the two presidents discussed the current regional security situation and exchanged views on bilateral relations and prospects for further cooperation between Latvia and Azerbaijan.
