On 31 March, President Edgars Rinkēvičs visited the Autonomous Systems Competence Centre, where he met its staff and cooperation partners from Ukrainian units.
“In the current situation, where the threat posed by foreign unmanned aerial vehicles has already become a new reality at Latvia’s borders, strengthening all forms of air defence must be a priority,” said Edgars Rinkēvičs.
The Autonomous Systems Competence Centre is a structural unit of the State Centre for Defence Logistics and Procurement, which began its operations in September 2025.
