On 27 March, President Edgars Rinkēvičs visited the Western Vidzeme Police precinct of the Vidzeme Regional Administration of the State Police of Latvia in Valmiera. He met with State Police officers and familiarised himself on site with the station’s infrastructure.
“The existing infrastructure in many places is outdated and does not meet modern requirements, which complicates the State Police’s ability to perform its duties effectively and comply with security standards. Modern and functional infrastructure, predictable remuneration and confidence in social guarantees are essential motivating factors for the sustainable recruitment and retention of staff in internal affairs positions,” emphasised President E. Rinkēvičs.
