On 2 September, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with the Chairman of the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments Gints Kaminskis at the Riga Castle.
During the meeting, President Rinkēvičs congratulated G. Kaminskis on his re-election to office. The parties discussed the process of drafting the national budget, the updated forecasts for personal income tax revenues and their impact on municipal budgets in 2026, as well as issues concerning the Municipal financial equalisation fund. Matters related to the implementation of civil protection measures at the municipal level were also addressed.
