On 12 September, President of Latvia, Egils Levits, met with Finance Minister Jānis Reirs at the Riga castle to discuss the current context of Latvia’s financial sector.
During the Meeting, President Levits inquired about the progress with the adoption of the 2020 consolidated budget and challenges therein, situation in the Latvian banking sector and implementation of Moneyval recommendations, and other issues pertaining to current work of the financial sector.
President Levits wished the government a successful adoption of the 2020 budget. He also expressed hope that budget law will be passed by the Saeima before 18 November when Latvia celebrates its Proclamation Day.
