On 16 April, at the Riga Castle, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with the Minister for Climate and Energy Kaspars Melnis. During the meeting, the parties discussed the impact of the security situation in the Strait of Hormuz on energy prices and availability in Europe, as well as the security of critical energy infrastructure in Latvia.
The discussion also covered Latvia’s energy strategy through 2050 and the ministry’s forthcoming tasks for its implementation.
