Valsts prezidents tiekas ar Korejas Republikas Nacionālās asamblejas priekšsēdētāju
“We are delighted about an active political dialogue between Latvia and South Korea, which has expanded in recent years, both by opening the Embassy of Latvia to South Korea and by the meetings between high-level officials, including the Presidents of both countries,”

said President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis during his meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Mr Moon Hee-sang in the Riga Castle on 31 May 2019.

“The Republic of Korea is one of Latvia’s largest trading partners in Asia. We intend to expand our co-operation in information and communication technologies, start-ups, transport and logistics, and tourism. The first charter flight from South Korea to Latvia is considered an important step in the development of direct air traffic in the future,” stated the President of Latvia.

The officials also discussed the possibilities to strengthen the mutual contractual legal basis, in particular as regards science and technology, as well as youth travel opportunities and employment.
