Valsts prezidents: NATO stratēģija ietver visu dalībvalstu, tostarp Baltijas valstu un Polijas, drošības vajadzības
On 15 December, President of Latvia Egils Levits took part in the opening of NATO2030 online discussion organised by Latvian Institute of Foreign Affairs. These discussions were initiated after the 2019 NATO London Summit when a Reflection Group was created. President of Latvia thanked all Baltic and Polish experts who contributed their comments to the Latvian Institute of Foreign Affairs publication on Reflection Group report.

In his speech President Levits focused on the importance of remaining united within NATO. He emphasised the significance of mutual consultations and strategic communication. NATO’s new strategy must be based on security needs of all member countries, including Baltics and Poland, which are in a very specific geopolitical situation. Public awareness about national defence and the role of NATO in securing it is absolutely crucial, added the President.
