Valsts prezidents Edgars Rinkēvičs darba vizītē Brazīlijā apmeklēja Sanpaulu, kur tikās ar Sanpaulu pavalsts gubernatoru Tarsisiu Gomisu Di Freitasu

On 5 November, during his working visit to Brazil, President Edgars Rinkēvičs visited São Paulo, where he met with the Governor of the State of São Paulo, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas.

President Rinkēvičs affirmed Latvia’s interest in strengthening cooperation between Latvia and Brazil, with particular emphasis on enhancing economic ties. “Latvia is keen to deepen cooperation with Brazil, especially with the São Paulo region, as one of the most powerful economic centres in South America. To promote targeted economic cooperation, a delegation of Latvian entrepreneurs representing the green energy, chemical and materials sectors has joined me on this visit,” said E. Rinkēvičs. The President acknowledged Brazil as a strategic partner of the European Union in South America and reaffirmed Latvia’s support for the further strengthening of EU–Brazil relations.

President Rinkēvičs underlined Latvia’s interest in commencing the export of fishery and dairy products to Brazil, encouraging the Brazilian side to complete the certification process as soon as possible.

During the visit, the President of Latvia, together with representatives of Latvian companies Aerones Engineering, GroGlass and Spodra, attended a conference on responsible investment (Principles for Responsible Investment). He also took part in a reception jointly organised by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia and Latvia’s Honorary Consul in the State of São Paulo, Kārlis M. Novickis.
