At the meeting on 20 October 2017, the Chapter Order decided to award the Order of the Three Stars, Class III, and appoint professional boxer Mairis Briedis as the Commander of the Order of the Three Stars for outstanding achievements in sports and significant contribution to the promotion of Latvia in the world.
When presenting the Order, the President of Latvia pointed out that such strong people were crucial for Latvia who make the name of our country be heard globally and were a model for the young generation.
