On 21 August, President hosted the award ceremony in the Riga Castle and presented the highest state decorations: the Order of the Three Stars, the Order of Viesturs and the Cross of Recognition.

The Order of the Three Stars was presented to 35 public figures:

The Order of the Three Stars is bestowed for special merit in serving Latvia, special contribution to development of state, local governments, society, culture, research and science, sports or economy. Special merits and contribution include separate outstanding accomplishments or continuous excellence and success in a particular field, special contribution to restoring the Republic of Latvia or further strengthening of the state.
