On 27 May, President Edgars Rinkēvičs visited the premises of the “Kalve Coffee” roastery in Mārupe and familiarised himself with the company’s operations.
“Coffee culture in Latvia is evolving, with growing interest in high-quality coffee and in places to enjoy it. “Kalve Coffee” is a testament to the fact that a high value-added product can be created right here in Latvia and made accessible to consumers, while at the same time maintaining a sustainable approach towards the environment and embracing Latvian identity. The decision by the “Kalve Coffee” team to list shares on the stock exchange and their ability to attract substantial capital reflects not only investors’ confidence in the company’s performance, but also sends a positive signal regarding the overall investment climate. It may encourage other companies to follow this example and consider such a development path,” said President Rinkēvičs following the visit.
During the visit, the President was introduced to the coffee roasting process, the selection of seasonal coffee varieties, global trends in coffee culture, as well as the company’s practical experience in relocating to new roasting facilities and listing its shares on the stock exchange.
