President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs visited the Riga Branch of the Bank of Latvia at the Bezdelīgu Street on 31 August to learn more about how cash is circulated and stored, as well as how National Analysis Centre detects counterfeit banknotes.

According to Edgars Rinkēvičs, devastating storm experienced by Latvia on the night of 23 August clearly showed that power supply for critical ATMs needs further upgrades. It is also important to provide people with practical tips on steps that need to be taken to assess and improve their preparedness for all sorts of emergencies.
