On 28 May, President Edgars Rinkēvičs visited the Riga preschool educational institution “Brīnumzeme” as part of Professions week to meet with children, talk about the future school and career paths, and introduce the daily responsibilities of the President of Latvia.
“Preschool is one of the most important stages in the learning process. It is during this time that children begin to develop learning skills that will be essential throughout their lives. It is also the period when children develop the curiosity about the world, which significantly influences their willingness to learn in the future.
Preschool teachers and their assistants are among the most important people in the world, as they lay the foundations for the future – by teaching, supporting, and nurturing our children. At “Brīnumzeme”, there are excellent teachers and assistants who work daily to ensure that children develop their curiosity, creativity, and joy of learning in a friendly and safe environment.
Thank you to the children for the lovely surprise – a song they had composed themselves about how each of us is a superhero with our own special powers. I would like to express my special thanks to the children of the “Ežuki” group – future first-graders who invited me,” said President Rinkēvičs.
