On Wednesday, 23 February, President of Latvia will pay a working visit to Hamburg where he will take part in the opening of Hamburg-Vigoni forum. During his Hamburg visit, Egils Levits will meet with Dr. Peter Tschentscher, First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, and business leaders from various sectors. Aim of the visit is to enhance the political dialogue and economic cooperation between Latvia and Germany.

The first, European, session of Hamburg-Vigoni forum will focus on the role of sovereignty and identity in Europe as a whole and will zoom in on the current integration policy. On 24 February, at 5.15pm (GMT+1), President Levits will deliver a speech about the future of Europe as a community of values and legal union at the Main Hall of the Hamburg University during the opening of Hamburg-Vigoni Forum. President of Latvia will make the address in German and take part in the following discussion in English. Opening of the forum will be livestreamed on www.hamburg-vigoni.de.

In addition to attending the forum, President of Latvia will also meet with Dr. Peter Tschentscher, First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

President Levits’ working visit to Hamburg will also include meeting with Gunnar Groß, General Secretary of aircraft manufacturer Airbus, at the company premises. There will also be a meeting with Anglo-German Club members, Latvia’s cooperation partners and potential investors from sectors like tourism, aviation, business, innovation and technologies.
