Latviju oficiālā vizītē apmeklē Polijas Republikas prezidents ar kundzi
From 26 June to 28 June 2018, H.E. President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda and First Lady of Poland Agata Kornhauser-Duda will visit Latvia on an official visit.

“Latvia and Poland share excellent relations both at the bilateral level and official level and between our people. We are reliable partners in NATO and the European Union. Polish soldiers are providing our security shoulder to shoulder with our Latvian soldiers on the everyday basis under the NATO expanded battle group in Latvia,” emphasised Raimonds Vējonis.

During the official visit on Wednesday, June 27, the President of Poland and the First Lady of Poland will meet with President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis and First Lady of Latvia Iveta Vējone in the Riga Castle, and they will lay flowers during a ceremony at the Freedom Monument. In the afternoon, the President of Latvia and First Lady of Latvia Iveta Vējone will participate in the book donation ceremony by President of Poland Andrzej Duda to the People’s Bookshelf at the National Library of Latvia.

On Thursday, June 28, President of Poland Andrzej Duda will meet with Polish troop contributors to the NATO expanded presence in Latvia at the Adazi Military Base. In their turn, President of Poland Andrzej Duda, Mrs Agata Kornhauser-Duda, and President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis will take part in the flower-laying ceremony at the memorial of the Polish soldiers fallen during the Latvian War of Independence in Slobodka later on, as well as in the opening ceremony of the monument to King of Poland Stephen Bathory in Daugavpils. At the end of the visit, the President of Poland and his spouse will attend the event dedicated to the centenary of re-established independence of Poland hosted by the Latvian Polish Association and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Riga in the Daugavpils Theatre.

This visit will be devoted to the centenary of the statehood of Latvia and will strengthen the relations between the two countries.
