On 25 February, President Edgars Rinkēvičs visited the Fire Safety and Civil Protection College and its practical training ground.
“Firefighters, rescue workers and civil protection specialists play an indispensable role both in everyday situations and in strengthening overall national security and social resilience. It is essential that opportunities for professional education and the development of high-quality infrastructure provide young people with the motivation to enhance their skills,” emphasised E. Rinkēvičs.
The President gave a positive assessment of the training facilities at the State Fire and Rescue Service’s training ground, opened in June 2025, for its ability to fully prepare new specialists for rescue operations in extraordinary situations. At the same time, following his visit to the Fire Safety and Civil Protection College, including the firefighting testing laboratory and the dispatcher training unit, President Rinkēvičs highlighted the need to further improve the quality of the College’s infrastructure.
