On 17 January, during the World Economic Forum in Davos, President of Latvia Egils Levits met with President of Poland Andrzej Duda and President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda. The Presidents agreed that the important annual meeting of world leaders, finally in full swing after a two-year hiatus, shows how Russia was wrong to launch an aggressive war in Ukraine and that Russia has lost on all fronts.

The Presidents exchanged views on the provision of support to Ukraine, which should continue as intensively as before in economic, political and military terms, with particular emphasis on the need for the supply of heavy weapons, including tanks.

The Presidents of Latvia, Lithuania and Poland once again discussed the establishment of an international tribunal to investigate Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, with particular reference to the format in which it could be set up. The presidents stressed the importance of the tribunal as both a legal and a political instrument in the fight against Russian aggression.
