Muzeju nakts

On 17 May, from 15:00 to midnight, the annual Museum Night will take place at the Riga Castle. The front part of the Riga Castle, which houses the residence of the President of Latvia, will be accessible to the public. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the history of the Riga Castle, one of Latvia's most outstanding medieval castles, and learn about the work of the institution of the President of Latvia.

During the Museum Night, visitors will have the opportunity to visit the representative and function halls of the Riga Castle: the Parade Entrance Hall, the Riga Room, the Dorothea Room, the Armorial Hall, the Green Hall, the Blue Salon, the White Hall, the Ambassadors Accreditation Hall, the Čakste Study, the Festival Hall and the Gifts Room. Additionally, visitors will also be able to view Latvia's highest state awards, learn about the work of the Presidential institution, and participate in educational activities.

Guests of the Riga Castle will also be treated to musical performances. The event will feature the National Guard Orchestra and the National Guard Dance Ensemble “Bramaņi”, Folk Dance Ensemble “Lielupe”, Show Brass Ensemble of the National Armed Forces Headquarters Orchestra, Marching Drummers of Andžejs Grauds Drum School “Drumline Latvia”, National Armed Forces Headquarters Orchestra, Brass Ensemble of the National Guard Orchestra, Ensemble “Light Edition” of the National Armed Forces Headquarters Orchestra, Clarinet Quartet “Quattro Differente and Saxophone Quartet of the National Armed Forces Headquarters Orchestra, National Guard Choir “Stars”, Classical Quintet and the Jazz Band of the National Guard Orchestra.

At the Riga Castle, there will be an opportunity to learn more about the National Armed Forces and the Latvian Scouts and Guides Organisation. During the event, visitors will be able to observe the work of first-year students of the Jaņa Rozentāla Art School, as they carry out their practical training in an open-air workshop.

Entrance to the front section of Riga Castle – the residence of the President of Latvia – will be through the Riga Castle gates from the side of Pils Square. A security check will be carried out at the entrance to the Riga Castle. The Chancery of the President of Latvia kindly requests that visitors refrain from bringing large bags, food items, animals, or metal objects. We also ask for your understanding, as due to high levels of interest, queuing may be expected.
