The military parade will be attended by the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, the President of Estonia, Alar Karis, and the defence sector leadership.

On 22 June 1919, Estonian and Latvian forces won a decisive victory over the Baltic Landeswehr and the Iron Division in and around Cēsis. Thanks to the determination and fighting spirit of the North Latvian Brigade and the Estonian units, Cēsis, Sigulda and Inčukalns were liberated from the invaders in these battles, thus thwarting the enemy's plans to seize power in Latvia and Estonia.

The victory in the Cēsis battles also later allowed the North Latvian Brigade to enter Rīga and the provisional Latvian government to return to the capital, as well as to implement the idea of creating a unified Latvian army on 10 July 1919.
