President Edgars Rinkēvičs is scheduled to attend a working dinner hosted by the President of the International Olympic Committee, Kirsty Coventry, a reception hosted by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, a reception organised by the Latvian Olympic Committee and the Embassy of Latvia in Italy, as well as the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Latvia in the Lombardy region.
The President of Latvia also plans to attend the opening ceremony of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, visit the Olympic Villages in Milan and Cortina, meet with Latvian Olympians, and attend competitions featuring Latvian athletes, including the biathlon mixed relay, men’s and women’s singles luge events, the men’s 1,000-metre short track speed skating event, the men’s short programme in figure skating, as well as a match of the Latvian men’s national ice hockey team.
