On October 15–16, President Edgars Rinkēvičs will participate in the annual informal meeting of the Arraiolos Group in Brdo pri Kranju, the Republic of Slovenia, during his working visit.
At the meeting of the Arraiolos Group, the leaders will discuss the European Union’s strategic priorities, strengthening security, and promoting competitiveness.
The Arraiolos Group is a meeting format for the presidents of the member states of the European Union, traditionally attended by the presidents of parliamentary republics whose duties do not include executive functions. The first meeting of the group, initiated by the then President of Portugal, Jorge Sampaio, took place in 2003 in Arraiolos, Portugal.
