President Edgars Rinkēvičs, together with the Chief of the State Border Guard, General Guntis Pujāts, and the Commander of the National Armed Forces, Major General Kaspars Pudāns, will visit a section of the Latvia–Russia border within the area of responsibility of the Viļaka Board of the State Border Guard. The President plans to visit the Pededze Border Guard Unit, the closed Pededze border crossing point, and the border security infrastructure constructed in the parish of Liepna.
Media opportunities: photo/video from 11.00 to 13.10, there will also be an opportunity to receive a comment from the President.
Transport for media representatives will be organised to and from the State Border Guard headquarters in Riga, 5 Rūdolfa Street. Departure from Riga to Pededze is scheduled for 07.15; departure back to Riga at 13.10.
