On 17 August, President Edgars Rinkēvičs will visit sections of the Latvia–Belarus border under the responsibility of the Daugavpils Regional Board of the State Border Guard. During the visit, the President will receive an update on the current situation at the border, measures to counter irregular migration pressure, the technical equipment available to border guards, progress of implementing smart border security solutions, as well as planned counter-mobility measures and the deployment of the National Armed Forces’ counter-mobility capabilities.
Transport for media representatives will be organised to and from the State Border Guard headquarters in Riga, 5 Rūdolfa Street.
