Arraiolos group is an informal meeting of presidents of parliamentary and semi-presidential European Union member states where presidents hold no executive power. The first meeting of the Group hosted by Portuguese president Jorge Sampaio in 2003 took place in Arraiolos (Portugal), thus the annual meeting of heads of EU’s parliamentary states is called the Arraiolos  Group.
