On 14 May, at 9:00, in the Riga Castle, Egils Levits, President of Latvia, Ilga Šuplinska, Minister for Education and Science, Artūrs Toms Plešs, Minister for Environmental Protection and Regional Development, Jānis Reirs, Minister for Finance, Arvils Ašeradens, Chair of the Saeima Education, Culture and Science Committee, and Gints Kaminskis, President of Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation ‘Computer for every child’. ‘It has been quite some time since Latvia switched to remote learning, but some children still have no computer. As a country promoting education for all, we cannot accept digital inequality. We need to create a robust system that can provide a computer to every child who needs it in a long run,’ said President.
