On 15 April, President Edgars Rinkēvičs will pay a working visit to the state city of Daugavpils. The President of Latvia is scheduled to meet with the deputies of the Daugavpils City Council, heads of educational institutions and the management of Daugavpils University. The President of Latvia will also visit the Daugavpils Science High School to learn about the educational process. He will discuss with school students the role of education in the development of the Latgale region and the significance of the 20th anniversary of Latvia's accession to NATO and the European Union.
During his visit, President Rinkēvičs will also meet with the management and staff of the “Daugavpils Psychoneurological Hospital” State Ltd to learn about their work in the hospital's wards.
During his working visit, the President of Latvia will lay flowers at the memorial site of the Polish soldiers who died in the Latvian Freedom Fights. Additionally, the President will tour the current exhibitions at the Mark Rothko Art Centre.
At the end of the visit, the President will give interviews to local media and meet with residents at the Daugavpils Unity House concert hall (arrival from 16.30, meeting starts at 17.45).
