Egils Levits offers judicial cooperation in criminal matters to the President of the Republic of South Africa

President of Latvia Egils Levits is currently in Davos where he attends the World Economic Forum. Today, President Levits met with the Minster for Foreign Affairs of South Africa Grace Naledi Mandisa Pandor and presented an official letter to the President of South Africa.

Letter also offers South Africa to sign bilateral agreement for judicial cooperation in criminal matters. Egils Levits briefly explained the main details of Kristīne Misāne’s case to Minister Pandor who promised to notify the Minister for Justice upon her return to South Africa.

President and Minister Pandor also discussed the European Union – Africa dialogue and contribution of South Africa to this dialogue.
