Valsts prezidents ar Izraēlas prezidentu pārrunā abu valstu zinātnieku darbu pie vīrusa COVID-19 izpētes
President of Latvia Egils Levits and President of Israel Reuven Rivlin discussed bilateral relationships between the two countries in a video call today. Latvia and Israel share close and fruitful relationship. Individually, and together with other members of international community, Latvia and Israel actively fight COVID-19 virus.

Egils Levits and Reuven Rivlin paid special focus on cooperation between scientists of both countries in researching COVID-19 and development of potential vaccine against the virus in today’s conversation.

President of Latvia informed his Israeli colleague that Baltic countries have agreed to open their internal borders from tomorrow, 15 May. ‘We are the first European region to open its internal borders for movement of people. Reopening of our ‘little Schengen’ is our success – success made possible due to our foresight in terms of early restrictions and responsibility of our people towards these restrictions,’ said President Levits.
