President of Latvia expresses support for Georgia’s territorial integrity

Today, while attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, President of Latvia Egils Levits met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia and expressed Latvia’s support for Georgia’s future steps in scope of the Eastern Partnership.

Prime Minister of Georgia thanked Latvia for its clear and unwavering support for Georgia’s territorial integrity. According to Prime Minister Gakharia, Georgia and Latvia can expand their future cooperation both in scope of the European Union Eastern Partnership and the so-called ‘Three Seas Initiative’.

Egils Levits underlined that respect for international law is the cornerstone of Latvia’s foreign policy. Latvia fully understands the situation in Georgia and Georgia can count on continued support of Latvia to Georgia’s territorial integrity.

President Levits and Prime Minister Gakharia also discussed the excellent cooperation between Georgia and NATO.
